The enrichment status filter helps you understand and manage the data quality of your leads. Not every lead will have complete enrichment data, and this filter lets you quickly identify where each lead stands in the enrichment process.

What is Enrichment Status?

Enrichment status indicates whether Catchlight has successfully gathered and processed data for a specific lead. When you submit a lead to Catchlight, it goes through an enrichment process that:

  1. Matches the lead to available data sources

  2. Validates the match quality

  3. Retrieves relevant demographic, financial, and interest data

  4. Returns the enriched profile to your dashboard

The status tells you where each lead is in this process.

Available Enrichment Status Values

Your leads can have one of six enrichment statuses:

Completed ✅

What it means: The enrichment process has finished successfully, and data is available in the Catchlight profile.

What you'll see: Full or partial data across various fields (demographics, financials, interests, etc.)

Action needed: None—these leads are ready to review and act on.

Best for: Filtering to see only leads with actionable data

In Progress ⏳

What it means: Catchlight is currently processing this lead's enrichment request.

What you'll see: Limited or no enrichment data yet; the profile is being built

Action needed: Wait for completion (typically 24-48 hours)

Best for: Tracking recent submissions

Failed ❌

What it means: The enrichment process was unable to return any data for this lead.

Why it happens:

  • Lead information doesn't match any available data sources

  • Data sources don't have information on this individual

  • Technical issues during processing

Action needed:

  • Verify the lead's basic information (name, email, address) is correct

  • Consider re-submitting with additional or corrected data

  • Some leads may simply not have available public data

Best for: Identifying leads that need manual review or better source data

Low Match Confidence ⚠️

What it means: Enrichment completed, but there is low certainty in the quality of the person match.

Why it happens:

  • Multiple people with similar names

  • Limited input data to distinguish individuals

  • Ambiguous matching signals

What you'll see: Some data is returned, but it may not be accurate

Action needed:

  • Review the data carefully before using it

  • Verify critical details directly with the lead when possible

  • Consider if additional identifying information could improve the match

Best for: Leads requiring extra verification before outreach

Insufficient Data 📋

What it means: The lead was submitted without enough information for Catchlight to perform enrichment.

Why it happens:

  • Missing required fields (must have first name, last name, AND one of: email, phone, or street address)

  • Incomplete contact information

Action needed:

  • Add the missing information to your CRM

  • Re-submit the lead with complete data

  • Check data import settings

Best for: Identifying leads that need data cleanup

Prohibited 🚫

What it means: Enrichment is not allowed due to legislation or local regulations.

Why it happens:

  • Geographic restrictions (e.g., certain countries have data privacy laws)

  • Regulatory compliance requirements

  • Specific opt-out requests

Action needed: These leads cannot be enriched through Catchlight

Best for: Understanding which leads have legal restrictions

How to Use the Enrichment Status Filter

Opening the Filter

The enrichment status filter is located in the filter section near the top of your dashboard, typically after the date range picker.

Visual identifier: Look for a dropdown menu labeled "Enrichment Status" or "Status"

Applying a Status Filter

  1. Click the dropdown - Opens the list of available statuses

  2. Select a status - Click on the status you want to view

  3. Click "Apply" - The dashboard updates to show only leads with that status

Viewing Multiple Statuses

Some dashboards allow you to select multiple statuses at once. If available:

  • Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) while clicking

  • Select multiple status values

  • Click "Apply" to see leads matching any of the selected statuses

Clearing the Filter

To see all leads regardless of status:

  • Select "All Statuses" or "All" from the dropdown, or

  • Click the "Reset" button to clear all filters

Common Filtering Scenarios

Scenario 1: Review Ready-to-Use Leads

Filter setting: Completed

Use case: You want to see only leads with full data that you can immediately act on

Result: List of all successfully enriched leads with complete profiles

Scenario 2: Check Processing Queue

Filter setting: In Progress

Use case: Monitor leads currently being enriched to estimate when data will be available

Result: Leads still processing; check back later for updated data

Scenario 3: Identify Problem Leads

Filter setting: Failed OR Insufficient Data

Use case: Find leads that need attention or data correction

Result: Leads requiring manual review or re-submission

Scenario 4: Quality Assurance

Filter setting: Low Match Confidence

Use case: Review leads where data accuracy may be questionable

Result: Leads needing verification before use in outreach

Scenario 5: Full Enrichment Coverage Report

Filter setting: Completed vs. All Statuses

Use case: Calculate what percentage of your database has complete enrichment

Method:

  1. Note total lead count with "All Statuses" selected

  2. Change to "Completed" and note the count

  3. Divide completed by total for your enrichment rate

Enrichment Status and KPIs

Your enrichment status affects several dashboard metrics:

Enrichment Success Rate

  • Calculated as: (Completed leads / Total submitted leads) × 100

  • Higher percentages indicate better data quality and matching

Average Match Confidence

  • Only includes completed leads

  • Low Match Confidence leads may lower this average

Usable Lead Count

  • Typically counts only "Completed" status leads

  • Represents leads ready for action

Improving Your Enrichment Success Rate

If you have many Failed or Insufficient Data leads:

Tip 1: Provide Complete Information

Always include:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • At least one of: email address, phone number, or complete street address

Tip 2: Verify Data Accuracy

  • Check for typos in names and emails

  • Ensure addresses are complete and correctly formatted

  • Validate phone numbers include area codes

Tip 3: Use Professional Email Addresses

  • Work emails ([email protected]) often yield better matches than personal emails

  • Include LinkedIn URLs if available

Tip 4: Submit Additional Details

If available, also include:

  • Company name

  • Job title

  • LinkedIn profile URL

  • City and state

More data = better matching

Combining Status Filter with Other Filters

Status filtering becomes even more powerful when combined with other filters:

Example 1: Recent Successful Enrichments

  • Date range: Last 7 Days

  • Status: Completed

  • Result: Newly enriched leads ready for immediate follow-up

Example 2: High-Value Leads Needing Attention

  • Wealth segment: High Net Worth

  • Status: Failed or Insufficient Data

  • Result: Potentially valuable leads that need data correction

Example 3: Campaign Enrichment Performance

  • Date range: Your campaign dates

  • Marketing channel: Campaign name

  • Status: Completed

  • Result: Successfully enriched leads from a specific campaign

Monitoring Enrichment Over Time

Use the date range and status filters together to track enrichment performance:

Week 1: Set to "Last 7 Days" + "In Progress" to see what's processing

Week 2: Change to "Completed" to see what finished from last week

Week 3: Review "Failed" and "Low Match Confidence" for data quality issues

This rhythm helps you stay on top of your enrichment pipeline.

When to Re-submit Leads

Consider re-submitting leads with these statuses:

Failed: After correcting or adding more complete data

Insufficient Data: Once you've obtained the missing required fields

Low Match Confidence: With additional identifying information (LinkedIn URL, full address, etc.)

Note: Check with your administrator about re-submission procedures and any limits on enrichment requests.

Status Filter Best Practices

Do:

  • Regularly review Failed leads to identify data quality issues

  • Monitor In Progress to set expectations for data availability

  • Use Completed filter for active campaign work

  • Check Low Match Confidence before using data in outreach

Don't:

  • Ignore Failed leads - they may indicate systemic data issues

  • Assume Low Match Confidence data is wrong - verify, don't dismiss

  • Re-submit too quickly - give In Progress leads time to complete (24-48 hours)

Next Steps

Now that you understand enrichment status, explore related features:

  • Understanding Match Confidence - Learn what makes a high-quality match

  • Catchlight Data Dictionary Overview - See what data fields are available in Completed profiles

  • Data Accuracy and Limitations - Understand how to use enrichment data responsibly

  • Event Topic Filter - Find leads with specific life events

Key Takeaway: Focus your outreach efforts on "Completed" status leads, and regularly review "Failed" and "Insufficient Data" leads to maintain high data quality across your database.
