Understanding Your Leads: Duplicates and Multiple Events

Why the same person — or an event you didn't expect — can show up on My Leads, what it actually means, and how to get a duplicate cleaned up.

Written by Chris Ross

Your My Leads page lists everyone who registered, grouped by event. Now and then you'll spot the same name more than once, or an event you didn't expect to see. Usually it's working exactly as intended — here's how to read it.

Each event is its own list

When you request an event, each date becomes its own request with its own registrant list. So if one person registers for two of your events, they'll appear once under each. That's not a duplicate — it's the same person signing up for two different things, and each is tracked separately.

Click any event on My Leads to expand it and see just that event's registrants.

"I didn't expect this event to be here"

If an event shows up on My Leads, it's because at least one person registered for it — the page only lists events that have registrants. If a date genuinely looks wrong (a title or day you didn't request), tell us the event and date in the chat and we'll check it.

The same person twice on one event

If someone appears twice under the same event, they most likely submitted the registration form more than once — for example, they signed up, didn't see the confirmation, and did it again. Two form submissions make two rows. It doesn't mean anything is broken with your campaign.

What to do about it

  • To stop messages going to someone (a duplicate, or anyone), open them on My Leads and use Unsubscribe from automations. See Removing or Blocking a Registrant.

  • To have a duplicate row cleaned up, just ask. We don't merge records automatically, but if you send us the event and the name in the chat, we'll take care of it.
