Pausing, Capping, or Canceling a Campaign

How to pause your ads, close registration, or cancel an event — and what happens next.

Written by Chris Ross

Sold out? Bad weather? Need to slow down sign-ups? Just let us know and we'll take care of it. Here's how to request each one and what to expect.

Pause or stop your ads

If you've hit capacity or want to pause spending, open the event on My Requests, click Request a change, and tell us in the "Request something else" box — for example, "Please pause the ads for the Sandwich Library event, we're sold out." We'll pause your Meta ads as soon as we can. If it's time-sensitive, flag it as urgent or use Chat with us for the fastest response.

Close registration (cap sign-ups)

Want to stop new registrations entirely, not just the ads? Ask us to close the registration page for that event. We'll turn off the form so no one else can sign up, while your existing registrants keep their confirmations and reminders.

Cancel an event

To cancel, request the change and tell us whether you'd like us to notify the registrants for you. We'll pull the ads, close registration, and (if you want) send a cancellation notice to everyone who signed up.

What happens next

You'll get a confirmation once it's done, and the change is recorded in the event's history so there's a clear record. For anything time-sensitive, the fastest route is always the Chat with us button at the top of the portal.
