Customizing Your Registration Form

The questions on your sign-up form, and the options inside each dropdown, are fully customizable — add, remove, or reword them (including an opt-out like "Prefer not to disclose") with a change request or a quick email.

Your registration form is the sign-up form your leads fill out to register for an event. The questions on it, and the answer choices inside each dropdown, are not fixed — they're built for you, and you can have us change them whenever you like.

What you can change

  • Add, remove, or reword a question.

  • Change the options inside a dropdown — add a new choice, remove one, or rename one. For example, adding "Prefer not to disclose" to the investable-assets / "how much have you saved for retirement" question is a common one.

  • Make a field required or optional.

If you've changed these before, you're remembering right — this is a routine change, not a limitation of the form.

How to request a change

Either way works:

  • Send a change request — on My Requests, open the event, click Request a change in the top-right, and describe what you'd like under Request something else. See Requesting a Change to an Event.

  • Or just email us — send your account team the change and we'll take care of it.

Tell us exactly what you want it to say (the new option's wording, or the reworded question) and, if it's for a specific event, which one. These usually turn around within about a day.

A couple of things to know

  • A few fields are essential and stay put — name and email, for instance — but almost everything else, including the choices inside a dropdown, is fair game.

  • If your account uses Catchlight to confirm dinner-seminar registrants by asset level, adding an opt-out option to the asset question affects who can be automatically qualified (someone who opts out has no asset level to check against). It's still completely fine to add — we'll just flag how it interacts when you ask, so there are no surprises. See Using Catchlight to Filter Registrations by Investable Assets.

Note: this is your registration form — separate from any Catchlight data in your analytics dashboard. The form questions are yours to customize; the Catchlight investable-asset ranges in the dashboard are appended from third-party data and work differently.
