New to Demio? This overview walks you through hosting your webinar from start to finish, in seven short videos — from getting into the room to ending and reviewing your results. A full transcript follows each video.

Module 1: Getting Started

Transcript

Let's host your first webinar. First, getting into the room.

When you log in, your Schedule shows the webinar we've set up for you. To step inside before you go live, click Join Room.

This opens your pre-room — where you get camera-ready before anyone's watching. Let's walk the controls on the video box.

The microphone button enables your audio — when it's green, you're heard.

The camera button turns your video on. As soon as it does, your preview appears right here — this is exactly what your attendees will see.

The lower-right icon opens your Visual Effects. From here you can keep it clean, blur your background, pick a preset — or hit the plus to add your own branded background.

Below the video, confirm your camera and microphone, then Run Test to check your connection.

Now you've got two ways in. Go On Stage puts you live on camera right away. Join The Room drops you in on standby — off stage, camera off — perfect for setting up. Let's do that.

And you're in, on standby. Notice your attendees can't see or hear you yet — nothing goes live until you start the session.

Next up: the room controls, and sharing your slides.

Module 2: Room Controls

Transcript

Now that you're in the room, let's get familiar with your controls.

To see who's here, open People in the top right. Right now it's only you, the host — exactly what you'd expect before you go live.

Next, your slides. We've already uploaded them for you — just open Materials in the bottom-left toolbar and click your presentation to bring it up on the stage.

To move through your slides, use the left and right arrow keys — it's smoother than the mouse, so you won't fumble. And when you're finished, hit the red Stop button to take them down.

That's the room basics. Next, let's turn on your camera and go on stage.

Module 3: Going On Stage

Transcript

Ready to be seen? Click Go On Stage. Demio lets you choose your camera and microphone, and run a quick connectivity test — we recommend doing this every time. For the best quality, plug into your router with an ethernet cable if you can.

Once your audio and video look good, save your changes and you're camera-ready.

Presenting something live from your computer? You can share your screen — just choose Entire Screen, then click Share, and it goes up on the stage.

And when you bring your slides back, Demio places you right beside them automatically. Add co-presenters and the layout adjusts on its own.

Next, the part clients most often miss — your polls, handouts, and calls to action.

Module 4: CTAs, Polls & Handouts

Transcript

This is the one part you don't want to skip. In the lower-right corner, you'll see a plus icon with a number — that's how many actions are ready to share. We've pre-loaded your room with three: a poll, a handout, and your call to action.

Click the plus, and they're all sitting ready. That featured action is your call to action — the button that sends attendees straight to your calendar to book a call. It's the most important of the three.

One thing to know: the call-to-action pop-up only appears once each time you launch it, and it can't be relaunched. So we load three identical CTAs — that way you can share it at the start, again after a key moment in the middle, and one more time at the end.

We'll launch each of these live in the next video.

Module 5: Running A Live Session

Transcript

It's showtime. To go live, click your webinar name in the top-left corner and choose Start Session. The moment you do, Demio begins recording automatically — so anything you say from here is on the replay. Keep side conversations off-mic.

After a short countdown, you're live, and anyone waiting can now see you.

Now let's share your actions. Open your poll, click Share Now, and attendees get a button to vote — you'll watch the results move in real time.

Do the same for your handout — it opens in a new window they can download.

And your call to action: click Share Now, and a button appears in their lower-left corner linking to your calendar. It stays pinned there for the whole session, so they can always come back to it.

One tip on chat — we usually keep it private, so messages come only to you. Safer if someone posts something odd. You can switch it to public anytime.

Next, let's end the session and review your results.

Module 6: Ending & Reviewing

Transcript

When your webinar's over, end it the right way. Don't just close the window — click your webinar name at the top, choose End Session, and confirm. It can't be reversed.

Demio then drops you into the event's Activity dashboard, where everything's waiting.

You'll see your registrations over time, plus who attended and who missed. An engagement graph shows the average time attended and the average time focused.

Every resource is broken out too — poll answers, handout downloads, and CTA clicks — and each one has an Export CSV, so you can pull the data straight into your CRM.

The People tab lists every registrant with their attended status, also exportable.

And your replay: within about an hour, once the recording finishes rendering, the replay email goes out and the recording appears under the event.

That's your whole webinar, start to finish. One last thing to cover — the difference between live and automated.

Module 7: Live vs. Automated Webinar

Transcript

That covers hosting a live webinar. But Demio also offers a second kind — an automated webinar — and it's worth knowing the difference. A live webinar is what we've walked through: you show up and present in real time. An automated webinar plays a pre-recorded video on a schedule — it starts, stops, and runs entirely on its own. Nobody has to log in.

Setting one up is simple on your end. We just need two things: first, the webinar video we'll play. Second, the timestamps for anything that happens during it. Watch your video and note the exact moment for each action — a poll, with its question and options; a handout, and which file; and your call-to-action timestamps. Send those over and we build the whole thing for you.

The replay works differently, too. For a live webinar, Demio makes a replay page and the email goes out within about an hour, once the recording finishes rendering. For an automated webinar there's no Demio replay — instead we build a page in your funnel with the video embedded and your scheduling button below it, and set the replay to send at 10 a.m. the next day, local time.

Live is you, in the moment. Automated is set-and-forget. And that's the whole series — you're ready to host.
