Pre-Compliance Review: Approving Ad Copy and Creative

Pre-Compliance Review is the first of two approval stages. At this point, you're reviewing the ad copy and creative as separate components before they're built into a finished ad in Meta.

What you'll receive

When your campaign is ready for review, we'll send you an email with a secure link. The review contains:

  • Ad copy. Typically 3 variations of headline and body text we're proposing for the campaign. We run all approved variations.

  • Creative. Multiple image or video options. Like ad copy, we run all approved creatives.

These are shown separately, not yet combined into a finished ad. You'll see the assembled version at Final Compliance Review.

How to review

Open the review from the link in the email (or from the Proofs hub in your portal). A progress bar tracks how many items you've reviewed, and you'll need a decision on every item before the review is complete. For the click-by-click steps, see How to Approve, Reject, or Request Revisions For Pre-Compliance.

Reviewing ad copy

For each ad copy variation:

  • Edit Text — edit the wording right in the review, then click Save Changes. Keep any placeholders (like %FIRSTNAME%) as-is — they're auto-filled with your event details. Saving doesn't approve the variation, so you'll still pick a decision afterward.

  • Approve — lock in the variation, as-is or with your edits.

  • Request Changes — you'd like us to adjust this variation. A comment box opens (notes auto-save) so you can describe the change.

  • Reject — start over with an entirely different variation. Because rejecting also sets that copy aside for future campaigns, you'll be asked to confirm — so if you just want tweaks, use Edit Text or Request Changes instead.

Reviewing creative

For each creative:

  • Approve — ready to run as-is.

  • Request Changes — you want adjustments to this creative. A comment box opens (notes auto-save) to describe what to change.

  • Reject — start over with an entirely different creative; you'll be asked to confirm. Creatives can't be edited inline, so all feedback comes through Request Changes or Reject comments.

Approving everything at once

When it all looks good, click Approve All Remaining to approve every still-pending item in one step. If your campaign runs on more than one date (a recurring series), date tabs let you preview each date — your decisions apply to all of them.

What happens after you approve

Once you've signed off, your approved ad copy and creatives are locked. Our media buyers use exactly what you approved to build the campaign in Meta. You'll then receive a separate email with a link to your Final Compliance Review.
