Reusing a Recording: Swapping the Video on an Automated Webinar

Want a different recording on your automated webinar? Send a change request — we swap it everywhere and re-check your timestamps.

Written by Chris Ross

Want to run your automated (pre-recorded) webinar with a different recording — say, last month's live session for an upcoming date? Send us a change request and we'll take care of the swap.

Please don't swap the video in Demio yourself

Changing the recording isn't just one step on our side. When we swap a video, we also update the matching copy in Vimeo and re-check the timing of your on-screen calls-to-action (the pop-ups) so they still land at the right moments in the new recording. If the video is changed in Demio on its own, those fall out of sync. Sending a change request keeps everything updated together and tells your team exactly what needs to happen.

How to request a video swap

On My Requests, open the event, click Request a change, and check the green Update the webinar video box. Then tell us where the new recording comes from — a past Demio live webinar (paste its Demio event link) or a different video (paste a public link) — and add the timestamps for each call-to-action. For the full walkthrough, see Requesting a Change to an Event.

How long it takes

Once we make the swap, Demio needs time to process the new video — roughly half to the full length of the recording (so a 90-minute video can take 45–90 minutes), and the current video keeps playing until the new one is ready. Please send your request well before your next session.
