FAQ: Compliance Approval Process

Written by Chris Ross

Why did you change to a two-stage process?

Previously, we built campaigns in Meta first and then sent them to you for review. If you wanted changes, our media buyers had to go back into Meta Ads Manager and rebuild the ad, which slowed launches down. By getting your sign-off on the ad copy and creative up front, the final review is faster and we significantly reduce the number of revisions at the end.

What does "high CPL" mean?

CPL stands for cost per lead. If a webinar or seminar topic starts generating leads at a higher cost than it did in previous runs, we flag it as high CPL and treat it as a candidate for new copy and creative. The goal is to refresh anything that's starting to fatigue before it affects your results.

How do I switch to 100% compliance review?

Just let your account manager know. We'll update your account so every campaign we run for you, whether new or a repeat, is sent for review before it launches.

What happens if I request changes?

We'll review your feedback, make the changes, and send you an updated review link for approval. This can happen at either the Pre-Compliance or Final Compliance stage.

Can I change my mind after I approve?

Yes, but reach out to your account manager as soon as possible. Once you approve at Pre-Compliance, our media buyers begin building the campaign in Meta. The earlier you flag a change, the less rework is involved. After Final Compliance approval, the campaign is queued to go live, so changes at that point may delay your launch.

Why can I edit ad copy at Pre-Compliance but not at Final Compliance?

At Pre-Compliance, the ad copy is still a standalone piece of text, so it's easy to edit directly. At Final Compliance, the copy is already built into a finished ad mockup. Inline editing isn't possible on a rendered mockup, so any changes at that stage need to be left as comments through Request Changes.

What if I don't see the review email?

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it's not there, contact your account manager and we'll resend the link.

Can I forward the review link to someone else on my team?

Yes. The review link works for anyone you forward it to, so if you'd like a partner, paraplanner, or compliance officer to weigh in, just forward them the email. Keep in mind that any decision made through the review link is recorded as your firm's decision, so coordinate internally before anyone submits.

How long do I have to review?

There's no hard deadline, but the sooner you review, the sooner your campaign launches. If you'll need more time than usual (out of office, waiting on internal compliance sign-off, etc.), give your account manager a heads up so we can plan around it.
